Hikes in Norway

Intro

The hikes are from the south-western region of Norway called Rogaland as well as Jotunheimen in the mountainous interior of Southern Norway. A long, flat coastline has magnificent sandy beaches and unspoilt boulder and pebble beaches in between. Inland, the mountains offer a great variety of hiking opportunities, on skis in wintertime, and on foot in other seasons.

The Lysefjord series

The Lysefjord in south-western Norway is a perfect example of a Norwegian fjord: Steep mountains, rough scenery, spectacular views, a lot of weather. The Jotunheimen series

Read the six articles from my hikes in Jotunheimen (literally “Home of Giants”), a large mountainous area in southern Norway. Most of Jotunheimen enjoys legal protection as a national park. It contains the 29 highest mountains in the country, all more than 2,000 metres high. In addition, there are rivers, lakes, moors and plateaus. The Jæren series

The 100 km coastline of Jæren in southwestern Norway consists of long sandy beaches, pebbles and rocks. The beaches are among the finest in the world. There are many opportunities for hikes in scenic surroundings. (This series consists of more than 20 chapters, i.e. hikes.)
