According to Wikipedia the Yonghe Temple (“Palace of Peace and Harmony”), also known as the Yonghe Lamasery, or popularly as the Lama Temple, is a temple and monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The architecture and artwork of the temple is a combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. This building is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China proper.

First watch this video from the Yonghe Lama Temple, then go on to read about the visit. Actually, I got the impression that religious practice is becoming common, but the worshippers at this particular temple seemed unsure of how to go about worshipping. There are indications of this in the video.
