In all cases, at the end of the 19th century, it was moved from Gol to the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History on Bygdøy in Oslo.
Gol stave church is a delight for both the eyes and the sense of smell. Smell the tar from the walls and ceiling. They must reapply tar every few years. Gol is also the stave church with the most copies. There are copies of it in several places around the world.
