Have a look at my pictures from South Africa, more precisely from a round-trip of central Johannesburg and a visit to the township of Soweto.
Check out South Africa entries. You will find this picture gallery page, and in time a regular travelogue or two. I have been slow in describing my trip in 2018.

Fast facts about South Africa
Learn about the country on Wikipedia. Here is an introduction based on it.
South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA), is the southernmost country in Africa. With over 60 million people, the country is the world’s 23rd-most populous nation. It covers an area of 1,221,037 square kilometres. South Africa has three capital cities. The executive, judicial and legislative branches of government are based in Pretoria, Bloemfontein and Cape Town respectively. The largest city is Johannesburg.
About 80% of South Africans are of Black African ancestry, with a variety of ethnic groups and languages. The remaining population consists of Africa’s largest communities of European (White South Africans), Asian (Indian South Africans and Chinese South Africans), and Multiracial (Coloured South Africans) ancestry.
South Africa is bounded to the south by 2,798 kilometres of coastline stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans. To the north it borders Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. To the east and northeast South Africa borders Mozambique and Eswatini and it surrounds Lesotho. South Africa is the most populous country located entirely south of the equator.
