Everything from Chile

Chile is a long, narrow country in South America, stretching over 4,000 kilometres along the Pacific coast, bordered by Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Its geography is highly varied, including the Atacama Desert in the north, fertile valleys in the centre, and Patagonia and fjords in the south. The Andes form its eastern boundary. Historically, Chile was home to indigenous cultures like the Mapuche before Spanish colonization in the 16th century. It gained independence in 1818 and developed into a republic.

Today, Chile has about 19.5 million people. The capital, Santiago, is the political and economic centre, located in a valley between the Andes and coastal mountains. Chile is known for its strong economy, wine production, and natural landmarks such as Easter Island, Torres del Paine, and the driest desert on Earth, the Atacama.
