Everything from Cuba

Cuba is the largest island nation in the Caribbean, located at the entrance of the Gulf of Mexico. It lies close to Florida, Mexico, Jamaica, and Haiti. Its geography includes fertile plains, mountains like the Sierra Maestra, and long sandy beaches. Colonized by Spain in the 16th century, Cuba remained under Spanish rule until independence in 1898, after which it became closely tied to the United States. Following the 1959 Cuban Revolution, it became a socialist state led by Fidel Castro.

Today, Cuba has a population of about 11 million. The capital, Havana, is known for its colonial architecture, vibrant culture, and historic Old Town. Despite economic challenges, Cuba retains strong cultural traditions in music, dance, and literature, while tourism and healthcare are key sectors.
