Everything from North Korea

North Korea, officially the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), occupies the northern half of the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. It borders China, Russia, and South Korea. The terrain is mountainous, with a population of about 26 million. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang. Founded in 1948 with Soviet backing, it is a single-party state under the Kim dynasty, structured around the ideology of Juche (self-reliance).

The country is one of the world’s most isolated and repressive regimes, with a command economy that has suffered from chronic food shortages. Its nuclear weapons program is a major source of international tension. Little is known about daily life inside the country due to extreme state control and a lack of information freedom.
