Everything from Myanmar

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia, bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand. Its diverse landscape ranges from the Himalayan north to the fertile Irrawaddy River delta. The population is about 55 million. The capital is Naypyidaw, a planned city built in 2005, replacing Yangon (Rangoon).

Myanmar has a complex history of ancient kingdoms, British colonial rule, and military dictatorship. A fragile transition toward democracy began in 2011 but was halted by a military coup in 2021. The country is rich in natural resources like jade and gems but faces significant poverty and ongoing ethnic conflicts. It is renowned for its thousands of Buddhist pagodas, including the stunning Shwedagon Pagoda.
