“Ancient Thebes with its Necropolis” is no. 87 on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. This is the sixth video from a cruise on the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. The stops: Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu – Esna – Luxor. This video is from the Karnak temple complex in Luxor.

There are several temples in this temple complex on the East Bank of the Nile. Most of what we see is from the New Kingdom between the 16th and 11th century BC. Here is found the famous Hypostyle hall with all the large columns, the largest being 21 metres.

Audio: “Egyptian Shaman” performed by Gerald Jay Markoe.
