Watch a video from Lærdalsøyri. It was once an important market place and port for trade between Eastern Norway and Western Norway. The old town is a national heritage with its 161 wooden houses.
They remain almost intact as in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a unique and very picturesque place in Western Norway, almost as deep as you get in the Sognefjord.
