Everything from Denmark

Denmark, a Nordic country in Northern Europe, lies on the Jutland Peninsula and over 400 islands, of which Zealand, Funen, and Bornholm are the largest. It shares a land border with Germany and is otherwise surrounded by the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. With a population of about 5.9 million, Denmark is known for its high standard of living, welfare model, and emphasis on renewable energy. Its capital, Copenhagen, sits on Zealand and Amager islands, famous for its historic centre, royal palaces, and modern design.

Historically, Denmark was once the seat of Viking power and later developed into a constitutional monarchy. The country remains a member of the European Union, though it has opted out of the euro. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are autonomous territories within the Kingdom of Denmark.

Denmark is a country in the region Sandalsand has defined as North and Central Europe. There are introductions to this region and other regions in the Destinations menu.
