Everything from Lithuania

Lithuania, the southernmost of the three Baltic states, lies on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. Its landscape is mostly flat, with numerous lakes and forests. The country has a population of approximately 2.8 million. The capital and largest city is Vilnius, known for its well-preserved Baroque old town.

Historically, Lithuania was once the largest state in Europe during the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. After centuries of union with Poland and annexation by the Russian Empire, it was forcibly incorporated into the Soviet Union before regaining independence in 1990. A member of the EU and NATO, modern Lithuania has a rapidly growing economy focused on technology and manufacturing. It is known for its strong basketball culture and rich history of folk traditions.
