Everything from Ukraine

Ukraine, the second-largest country in Europe by area, is mostly comprised of fertile plains (steppes) and the Carpathian Mountains in the west. It has a population of about 36 million. The capital and largest city is Kyiv, one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe. Ukraine has a long history as a cultural and political centre, notably as the medieval state of Kyivan Rus’, but spent centuries under foreign rule before becoming an independent state in 1991 with the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Since 2014, it has been in conflict with Russia, which escalated into a full-scale invasion in 2022. The economy is heavily based on agriculture, making it a major global grain exporter. Ukraine is known for its Orthodox cathedrals, Cossack heritage, and rich folk traditions.
