Everything from Poland

Poland, located in Central Europe, has a largely flat terrain with the Carpathian and Sudeten mountains along its southern border. It has a population of around 38 million. The capital and largest city is Warsaw, which was meticulously rebuilt after its near-total destruction in World War II. Poland has a tumultuous history, having been partitioned and erased from the map for 123 years before regaining independence in 1918.

The 20th century brought immense suffering under Nazi occupation and communist rule. Since joining the EU in 2004, it has become one of Europe’s most dynamic economies. Poland is known for its rich cultural heritage, medieval cities like Krakow, and its central role in the fall of European communism.
